Building on the success of previous Logitech G Challenge eRacing competitions, Logitech G, a brand of Logitech, (SIX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) and leading innovator of gaming technologies and gear, alongside McLaren, the racing and technology brand and creator of luxury, high performance sports cars and supercars, today announced the 3rd Annual Logitech McLaren G Challeng e 2020.

The program will support master’s students at RCA’s School of Design in furthering their exploration of innovative design while collaborating with Logitech to shape the products and experiences of the future.

To celebrate the beginning of this journey, RCA alumnus Alastair Curtis, who now serves as Logitech’s chief design officer, and Paul Anderson, Dean of the School of Design will come together for a fireside chat at the school. Curtis and Anderson are expected to discuss what the future of product design looks like in a world in which technology permeates everything. They will also challenge the audience to share their vision for the future on what role technology and design will play to push human beings beyond their current capabilities and solve the big challenges ahead of us.

Logitech announced the UK availability of its new Amazon Alexa skill that enables voice control of your entertainment experience using a Logitech Harmony Hub through Alexa-enabled devices such as the Amazon Echo or Echo Dot.

With this new skill, you can start and stop Harmony Activities, control your volume, pause and resume your movies, or even directly tune your channels, hands free, using only your voice. Harmony users can simply say “Alexa, tell Harmony to turn on the TV,” or “Alexa, tell Harmony to turn on Netflix” to control the TV as well as other entertainment and smart home devices, and Harmony makes it happen. As new skills continue to be added, users can also control media playback by simply telling Alexa to play, pause, stop, eject or record.

Logitech Introduces Button to Control Your Smart Home

Today Logitech introduced the Logitech Pop Home Switch Starter Pack and Pop Add-On Home Switch, putting smart home control at your fingertips. After initial set-up, with the push of a button, everyone in the home can control smart home devices to set the scene with lighting presets, Sonos® playlists and more.

“Sometimes you just want to set the mood for movie night without opening multiple apps to turn down the lights, turn on the TV and the sound bar and draw the blinds.” said Renee Niemi, head of the Smart Home business at Logitech. “With Pop, you can do all that with a press of the switch. It makes the smart home simple and accessible for everyone — not just the person with the smartphone.”

Logitech Pop Home Switch is compatible with a wide range of lighting and smart home products including lighting, door locks, and blinds from companies like LIFX, Phillips Hue™, Lutron, and INSTEON®, and you can mix and match product controls on an individual switch.

Each switch can trigger three actions using different presses – a single press, a double press, and a long press. For example, you can set individual switches to turn smart products on/off, adjust brightness and scene presets, or quickly access your favourite Sonos music playlists and stations.

Setup is simple. The Pop app (available for Android® and iPhone®) scans your Wi-Fi network for compatible devices in the home. Then, you can assign individual devices to a switch or combine multiple devices into a single trigger using Recipes -- simple combinations of product controls you can set up using the Pop app. So, if you want to set the mood with lighting and the music turned up for date night, you can do that easily with a single press of Pop.
